Celebrating One Year of the Eri Silk Spinning Plant: A Commitment to Sustainability

Updated: Feb 4

A Milestone in Sustainable Textile Production

The Eri Silk Spinning Plant at the Integrated Textile Park in Baksa has reached a significant milestone. It has been one year since its establishment. This achievement marks an important step in NEHHDC’s journey to strengthen the handloom and textile ecosystem of the Northeast.

As we reflect on this past year, we recognize the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Our commitment to ethical and sustainable Eri silk production remains unwavering. We aim to preserve Assam's traditional sericulture heritage while empowering local communities, especially women. This is not just about producing silk; it’s about fostering inclusive economic growth through high-quality, cruelty-free products.

Celebrating with Purpose

To commemorate the Plant Establishment Day, our employees are coming together for a series of meaningful activities. These events are designed to promote teamwork and environmental responsibility.

Cleanliness Drive

One of the key activities is a cleanliness drive across the plant premises. This initiative emphasizes our commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment. By working together, we can ensure that our plant remains a place of pride for everyone involved.

Tree and Flower Plantation

In addition to the cleanliness drive, we are organizing a tree and flower plantation event. This activity highlights our dedication to environmental sustainability. Planting trees and flowers not only beautifies our surroundings but also contributes to a healthier ecosystem.

Team Spirit Through Sports

To encourage team spirit, we will host a friendly cricket match. Sports bring people together, fostering camaraderie and collaboration. It’s a fun way to celebrate our achievements while strengthening our bonds as a team.

A Shared Lunch

Finally, we will gather for a shared lunch to celebrate our collective efforts. This meal is more than just food; it symbolizes our unity and shared vision. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our journey and look forward to the future.

Our Vision for the Future

As we celebrate this milestone, we also reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, cooperation, and community-driven growth. Our vision is clear: we want to be a global leader in ethical Eri silk production.

We believe that by focusing on sustainable practices, we can make a positive impact on our community and the environment. Our efforts are not just about business; they are about creating a legacy of responsibility and care.

Empowering Local Communities

Empowering local communities, especially women, is at the heart of our mission. We understand that when women thrive, entire communities benefit. By providing training and employment opportunities, we are helping to uplift families and create a brighter future for all.

High-Quality, Cruelty-Free Products

We are proud to produce high-quality, cruelty-free Eri silk. Our commitment to ethical practices ensures that our products are not only beautiful but also made with respect for both people and the planet. We invite you to explore our offerings and join us in this journey towards a more sustainable future.

In conclusion, as we celebrate the first anniversary of the Eri Silk Spinning Plant, we are filled with gratitude and hope. Together, we are making strides towards a more sustainable and ethical textile industry. Let’s continue this journey, hand in hand, towards a brighter future for all.
