The Eri Silk Spinning Mill, under the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation, was established in 2025 at the Integrated Textile Park, Baksa, to enhance Eri silk production using advanced, state-of-the-art techniques. Specializing in high-quality spinning and dyeing, the plant ensures efficiency, precision and sustainability. With a commitment to ethical practices, it supports economic growth while preserving Assam’s sericulture heritage and empowering local communities, particularly women. The Eri Silk Spinning Mill focuses on producing eri silk products for eco-conscious consumers, especially targeting the United States market, where sustainable and cruelty-free textiles are highly valued.
